Product Description
For retaining pieces that would be challenging to fixture with conventional, flat vise jaws during machining, soft jaws are a frequent alternative. Often milled out of aluminum or steel, soft jaws can also be 3D printed with the help of continuous fiber reinforcement. Hard jaws are top chuck jaws made to the final size from hardened steel. Unlike hard jaws, Soft Jaws can be machined to specified dimensions. The most common materials used to make soft top jaws are cast iron, steel, or aluminum.
